THE AMBIT PRACTICE
Ambit’s contributions come through the post, unsolicited,
and are judged on merit. We reject big names if they don’t
send in their best work. This does not always make us popular with
writers but it makes us popular with readers. We print emerging
writers alongside the most recent or more experimental work of established
writers. We include material from all over the world and we mix
images and text throughout each issue.
THE AMBIT WRITERS
Recent issues have featured: POETRY from Helen Clare, Rhian Gallagher,
Tim Liardet, Penelope Shuttle, Satyendra Srivastava and George Szirtes
and FICTION from Catherine Eisner, Sophie Frank, DC Jeffreys, Olivia
McCannon, Joan Jobe Smith and Carl Tighe. If you haven’t heard
of some of those people yet, you’ll start hearing about them
soon! And the new names arrive with every post...
THE AMBIT GALLERY
We’ve recently printed sets from from Peter Blake, Maggi Hambling,
Patrick Hughes, Andrzej Klimowski, Eduardo Paolozzi, Lucinda Rogers,
Danusia Schejbal, and Ralph Steadman. We also have a team of artists
to draw the poems and stories: Ken Cox, Margot Cox, Anne Howeson,
Robert McAulay, Ron Sandford, Charles Shearer and of course our
Art Editor, Mike Foreman.
THE AMBIT REVIEWERS
Our team of regulars includes Jim Burns, Judy Gagahan, Herbert Lomas,
Jehane Markham, Marita Over and Vernon Scannell. We publish short
reviews of poetry books. We do not review fiction because we feel
this gets enough attention elsewhere. |
